If you are in Internet marketing for many years you must ask yourself what is the optimal product to sell online? I used to sell all kinds of products. I sold physical products like paintings, clothes, music CDs, etc. what I have found out is that the best product to sell is the information product.

Information products are e-books, instructional DVDs, online seminars, etc.

Why are the information products the best?​

There are easy to make. To make an e-book you can pack all your articles on your website into downloadable e-book and set it as a product. Many bloggers and online marketers write some kind of articles, blog posts etc.

the best thing about the information product is near zero costs. What I mean by that? It means that you can easily create a DVD, e-book, online seminar, practically for free. Because your cost levels of the information product are virtually zero, you can give crazy commissions to your affiliates. That means if you gave commissions as high as 50, 60, 70% you still make good money. If you sell physical products, you usually have costs and that prevents giving your affiliates big commissions.

Because the information product is not physical, the pricing is based on the value instead of on looks and feel.

With info products, you are actually buying the information and how much value that information means to you. Information product's prices can range from $10 up to few thousand dollars. I know few guys that are selling online seminars for $10,000 a pop. That is how they became marketing millionaires.

For example, you can repackage all your blog posts into one e-book and sell it online. You can charge, for example, $20, $50, etc., but if you repackage all your knowledge and make a seminar out of your blog posts, you can charge even more.

For example, people are paying a few thousand dollars for a seminar that teaches same information as you can find inside the book, people place different value on the delivery medium.

Live seminar seems to be more valuable than a simple e-book even though they both offered to same information.

You can easily make an e-book with Microsoft Word, create instructional DVD using Camtasia software, coach people through Skype. Just think outside of the box.
